I purchased two of these books upon recommendation from a friend.
Elder Paisios is a revered Monk and many books have been written about and by Elder Paisios.
Do not hesitate to purchase this book. There are many WONDERFUL books that we should all read. In my opinion, the three most important books after the Holy Bible include Monastic Wisdom, Counsels of the Holy Mountain and Elder Paisios (this book especially and all other Elder Paisios books). They should be in every persons home.

Wonderful companion

This book will fill your days with sweetness as Elder Paisios is a wonderfully loving and humble monk. I've read his life story several times and never tire of it. Sometimes the mind is tired at the end of the day, too tired to read more difficult spiritual books. The life of a monk like Elder Paisios is a gentle and welcome source of inspiration. My mind relaxed and settled reading about Elder Paisios. Wonderfully written. Elder Paisios's life will comfort your heart and inspire you to a deeper life of humility and compassion which always leads to joy.

Elder Paisios;went from being an army signalman,to a great Saint,in his life he saw the whole of the moon,for those who want to know the traps and snares:the snakes and ladders of the spiritual way of life,they will find in these pages answers and inspirations.
These days there are a lot of commercial false prophets;but this is the real deal,a man of GOD,Follow his life as he moves to the different monasteries of Mount Athos:THE HOLY MOUNTAIN,The Holy man,the miracles,the humility,the attitude of gratitude,A wily ex-soldier who found ways to deceive the decever{SATAN}With the help of the Holy Mother Of GOD.......I am an Irish Roman Catholic,as I love the italian Saint;Padre Pio,I also love this great Greek Orthodox Saint; ELDER Paisios,so this is my advice to you
